Mumbai: After Om Shanti Om there is another period film based on the Indian film industry.
Director Sudhir Mishra's next venture Khoya Khoya Chand is a film based on the world of cinema of the 50s and the 60s.
Needless to say, the music of the film is an attempt to take you back in time.
CNN-IBN caught up with the cast and crew of the film at the music launch.
Speaking to CNN-IBN, Director Sudhir Mishra told us, “It is very difficult to make the music. You can be somewhat like that but you can’t mimic it.”
The producer of the movie, Prakash Jha said, “Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. The music is absolutely brilliant.”
As brilliant as it may sound, but as the Music Director Shantanu Moitra puts it, if it works it should be considered as a tribute to musicians of the golden era
He says, “If this music is appreciated then it is really a tribute to those guys.”
Because Khoya Khoya Chand is a story of a filmmaker the music launch witnessed a number filmmakers get together.
From Shekhar Kapoor, Nikhil Adwani, Satish kaushik to Anurag kashyap and Raju Hirani, all the stellar names from the world of film-making were present there. Once the music was out we asked everyone to pick their favourite track.
Actors Soha Ali Khan and Shiny Ahuja rooted for the title track.
Director Sudhir Mishra and Music Director Shantanu Moitra both followed the suit as they named the title track as their favourite as well.
