New Delhi: Wednesday is the day to put on one’s dancing shoes and head to the Bachchan house Prateeksha in Mumbai.

Well, unfortunately not for everyone, since the Aishwarya Rai-Abhishek Bachchan wedding is a highly ‘private’ affair. But don’t fret, we’ll get you all the details you would want to know about the three-day long big B’wood bash.

And the much-awaited celebrations begin on Wednesday. The traditional sangeet scheduled for the evening is expected to be a duel choreographed by ace dancer Shiamak Davar and celebrity filmmaker Karan Johar.

While Davar has prepared the moves for the Rais, Johar will make the Bachchan family dance to his tunes.

The mehendi ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at the other Bachchan house Jalsa while the final wedding rituals will take place on Friday at Prateeksha.

Sources say the wedding card comes in a big box, with three parts tied together with a ribbon.

The first contains the invite while the second contains 24 pieces of a special mithai made with chocolate imported from Switzerland and the third box contains a Ganesh idol.

Only 100 A-listers have got their hands on the invite. The guest list includes Ajay Devgan, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher with family, Danny Denzongpa, Karan Johar, Yash Chopra, Sachin Tendulkar and the man behind the original Don Chandra Barot.

While most of the film industry has been given a cold shoulder, Sahara's Subroto Roy, Reliance honcho Anil Ambani and family will grace the occasion. Add to this are another 100 invitees that include 50 relatives from the groom's and the bride's families.

UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh is also expected to make an appearance to bless the couple and contrary to rumours, no invitation has been sent to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and family.

Designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have done the dresses for the wedding while Sufi singer Raahat Fateh Ali Khan will perform at the big event, sources say.

So it surely looks like it will be a wedding to remember. But if you are one of those who would do anything to get there, if you haven’t received an invitation to the wedding, there’s little chance you can gatecrash.

Come April 20 and both the Bachchan bungalows, Prateeksha and Jalsa, will turn into well-manned fortresses.

More than 300 security guards from the Mumbai Police and private security agency Trig will guard the houses from every possible corner. Since both the bungalows are located in the main road, special arrangements will be made to divert traffic and also solve the problem of car parking.

Meanwhile, special gate passes are being given to visitors, caterers, decorators and those involved in the pre-marriage arrangements.

CCTVs will also be put up during the ceremonies to monitor people coming and going out of the house.

So if you want a closer look at the wedding and the rest of the celebrations, watch this space instead.
