“Justice V R Krishna Iyer has been misled by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy with regard to certain factors in ‘Emerging Kerala,’” said V S Achuthanandan, referring to the statement he had made on Friday in support of the summit.
“If he is studying its various aspects in depth, he would understand what will emerge out of Emerging Kerala,” said V S. He was speaking to the press on Saturday at Aluva Palace.“Oommen Chandy is trying to save his skin by saying that the projects in ‘Emerging Kerala’ were originally planned by the CPM government. If we had made mistakes, we would have shown the willingness to correct them too,” said V S in reply to an earlier statement made by the Chief Minister. He alleged that the the Muslim League lobby was behind the dubious real estate dealings under the ‘Emerging Kerala’ summit.
“UDF itself is behind nurturing casteism and religious differences in the state, and the only solution for this problem is to keep a close rein on the UDF cadres,” said V S. He also criticised the proposal for including night clubs.
