HYDERABAD:  Now it is clear that both the Left parties are going in two different directions in the forthcoming byelections. While the CPI has decided to support TDP and TRS candidates, the CPM has decided to go along with the Lok Satta.Though, it seems that  the differences between the CPM and CPI state committee have ended for the time being,  a CPM leader pointed out that the root-cause for the differences lies with the  national policies. While, the CPI believed that the third alternative was possible in the national politics with like-minded parties, the CPM was of the view that the third front with bourgeois parties was not possible. As per its policy the CPI wants to back TDP candidates while the CPM has decided to go it alone and contest five Assembly segments. The list of candidates would be announced by the CPM leadership on Friday. In the remaining 13 Assembly seats, the CPM would support Lok Satta. The differences would persist as long as there are two different ideologies, CPM state secretary BV Raghavulu told reporters here on Thursday. He, however, added that the present controversy on ‘hidden agenda’ was over. He said the CPM has decided not to work with any party.  Raghavulu alleged that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was diverting all the funds to 18 assembly segments where the bypolls are due.  Meanwhile, the two-day CPM state committee meeting concluded on Thursday.
