CHENNAI: The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) will felicitate N Srinivasan, former director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), with a lifetime achievement award on Friday. The award will be bestowed on him by Shiv Shankar Menon, national security advisor (Prime Minister's Office), at the Institute of Mathematical Sciences at Taramani.
A distinguished scientist, Srinivasan, who was among the four scientists selected for the honour, could not receive the award from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as he was unwell. The other three scientists bestowed with the honour include V K Iya, Obaid Siddiqi and V K Mehra.

Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission D Srikumar Banerji, chief executive Nuclear Recycle Board S Basu, chief executive of Heavy Water Board Shri Prakash, IGCAResearch director S C Chetal and director of Institute of Mathematical Sciences Prof R Balasubramanian will be present during the occasion.
