New Delhi: For residents of Delhi who are lovers of art, music and culture but can never manage to keep track of cultural events being organised in the city, the Delhi government has come up with an easy solution. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday launched a phone number - 9323300300 - which residents can give a missed call on to receive regular updates and alerts about upcoming events in the National Capital.
"Over the last year or so, we gave been organising various cultural and art events throughout the city, most of which are open to all free of cost. But one problem that many people face is that they can never keep track of which events are happening when and where. Even though many of our events are packed, there are still many people who miss out on these opportunities," the Deputy CM said.
Sisodia, who is also Delhi's minister for art, culture and tourism, added, “For events that require passes, we will also give them (people) information about where to collect these passes. However, most of the events organised by Delhi Government are walk-in events that are free."
Recently, the Delhi government had organised an event called 'Dastak' where musicians from across the country were called to perform in Delhi's residential colonies and areas. The government had said this was aimed at breaking Lutyens’ Delhi's monopoly over cultural events, bringing it to a much wider audience.
