BANGALORE: Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde has strongly recommended to the government the removal of the Reddy brothers and Sriramulu from the state Cabinet and pursue legal action against them.Ministers G Janardhan Reddy, G Karunakar Reddy and B Sreeramulu are directors of Obulapuram Mining Company and had claimed that they had no business interests in Karnataka. The report indicts them with proof of how they are directly involved in the transactions with benami accounts of Markandeshwara Minerals Hospet (SBMM) and M/s Sri Jambunatheswara Minerals.It highlights transactions and export of mines by them. The report reads that “over hundreds of illegal entries and transaction done in the export business in mining districts show how crores reached Sri G J Reddy Sir”.It also refers to Reddys setting up GJR Holdings in tax havens like Isle of Man and British Virginia Islands in 2009. It highlights how amounts withdrawn from a bank account finally reached the same person. There are references on how these ministers cheated Income Tax and other government agencies on various counts.Terming Bellary as a “pool of illegalities”, the report says various departments like mines and geology, forest and police were involved in the racket. In another place, the report explains how a retired director of a company with Janardhan Reddy and his wife Aruna as directors apply for transportation of ore.Their names also finds mention in Belekeri scam.Hegde stressed that an amount of ` 1,11,13,394.00 had been paid to obtain fake permits from Andhra Pradesh and permits of other leases from the officials.
