Long Qingquan of China won the men's 56kg weightlifting gold medal at the Beijing Olympics on Sunday.
The teenager heaved 132kg in the snatch and set two new junior world records with a clean and jerk effort of 160kg, the new standard for juniors.
Long's total of 292kg also surpassed the junior world record of 288kg set by the eventual bronze medallist Eko Irawan of Indonesia just two minutes earlier.
Asian champion Hoang Anh Tuan of Vietnam won the silver with a total lift of 290kg.
