The police officer who has been briefing Assistant Public Prosecutor Sangeeta Fad, had worn a T-shirt which was noticed by the judge, who questioned him why attended court in a casual dress.

The officer replied that he was returning from a raid. However, an annoyed judge told him, "You may go for a raid or anywhere, but while attending court you must come appropriately dressed and maintain its decorum."

The judge was hearing the anticipatory bail plea of those accused of ransacking the Deputy Mayor's cabin and attacking then deputy mayor and BJP city president Milind Patankar, over the controversial issue of cross voting in the election, to the post of Chairman of the Transport Committee of the Thane Municipal Corporation.

When the assistant public prosecutor informed the judge that the accused are yet to be established, the judge shot back stating, "The fact that applicants have filed the anticipatory bail itself self speaks everything".

Counsels Rajan Salunke and Gajanan Chavan appeared for applicants Deputy Mayor Mukesh Moksahi, leader of the BJP in the corporation Sanjay Waghule, TMT committee member Bala Raut and Shiv Sena activist Jagdish Thorat who are the main accused in the offence.

The court is expected to decide on anticipatory bail after hearing both counsels.
