HYDERABAD: The Task Force police arrested one person on Friday for possessing dual passports with the same photograph on different names. Police also recovered the passports, photocopies of SSC certificate and ration cards on different names from him.
On a tipoff, Task Force police conducted a raid at Megha Residency in Chiragali lane and apprehended one person who is holding dual passports with the same photograph on different names and date of births. The accused, Lalani Nizar alias Nizar, resident of Megha Residency reportedly owned two passports no. G2066800 in the name of Lalani Nizar alias Nizar issued by RPO, Hyderabad and another passport no. E5882558 in the name of Syed Omer.K Raghuram Reddy, additional deputy commissioner of police, Task Force said Lalani Nizar was born and brought up in Hyderabad. In 2003, he obtained an Indian passport by submitting fake documents at the Hyderabad RPO on the fictitious name Syed Omer. Using the passport, he applied for a visa at the US Consulate, Chennai which was rejected. Later he burnt the said passport. Then he obtained another passport in the name of Lalani Nizar and tried thrice for visa at the US Consulate in Hyderabad but was rejected all three times.
