KADAPA: In a shocking incident, a 55-year-old electrician committed suicide by jumping off the RIMS hospital building in Kadapa on Friday. He reportedly took the extreme step depressed over being roughed up by his son who found his father beating his mother on Monday.Police said, Khajapeer hit his wife on Monday night over a domestic argument at their house at Bismilla Nagar.She suffered an injury on her nose. Their second son Farooq (25) got enraged at the sight of blood oozing from his mother’s nose and thrashed his father with a cricket bat. Later, the injured couple were admitted to RIMS hospital for treatment.Around 9 am on Friday, Khajapeer suddenly went to the terrace and jumped off the four-storey building. He died on the spot. The deceased had two other sons and a daughter.RIMS police station circle inspector Mahabub Basha said no suicide note was left by Khajapeer, but family members told police that he was depressed over the incident for the last few days.Following his death, the bereaved family lost their only bread-winner as Farooq is unemployed. RIMS police registered a case.
