Marital discord forces women to commit suicide

BANGALORE: Two women ended their lives in separate incidents in the city on Monday night. In a case reported in Rajagopalangar police station limits, Manjula (26), a homemaker, committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence at Lavakushanagar in Laggere on city outskirts. She was married to Ramesh, a private employee and had two children.  On Monday evening, she hanged herself from the ceiling fan and ended her life. She was dejected in life from past few months and this might have led to the suicide, the police said. Further investigations are on. In another incident reported in Electronics City police station limits, Gouramma (36), a housewife, committed suicide by hanging herself after a quarrel with her husband. She was married to Ravindra, a driver with a travel agency. The couple hailed from Channarayapatna of Hassan district.The police said the couple quarrelled over a trivial issue on Monday night and Ravindra reportedly told her that he would complain  to her brothers that she always quarrelled with him. Upset over this, Gouramma hanged herself when he went out to buy something from a shop, the police said. Electronics City police have registered a case and are investigating.
