CHENNAI: DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi and his senior party colleagues will be submitting a memorandum urging PM Manmohan Singh to take immediate steps to end the attacks on Tamils in the border areas of Kerala and to take steps for increasing the storage level of the dam to 142 feet as per the verdict of the Supreme Court.Karunanidhi and his colleagues will meet the PM at Raj Bhavan and submit the memorandum. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by Karunanidhi held at DMK headquarters on Friday night. During the meeting, party functionaries from Theni district bordering Kerala explained the situation prevailing there over the Mullaiperiyar issue.The State government is yet to announce whether CM J Jayalalithaa will be meeting the PM here. According to a tentative schedule, the PM is arriving by a special flight at 8.20 p.m on December 25 and will be meeting visitors at the airport for 30 minutes. He will stay at the Raj Bhavan. After taking part in the birth anniversary celebrations of the late Ramanujam to be held at the Madras Centenary auditorium on December 26, he will leave for Karaikudi at 11.10 am. After attending a function by Alagappa University at Karaikudi, the PM will leave for Tiruchy by helicopter at 5.10 pm. From there, he will head for Delhi by a special flight.
