A few parts of South interior of Karnakata and some parts of coastal Karnataka are expected to receive rains in the next 48 hours, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) report.
Meanwhile, Bangalore city has recorded 4.3mm of rains and Bangalore HAL recorded 0.5mm of rain as on 8.30 pm on Thursday.
B Puttanna, director-in-charge of IMD Bangalore, said: “A low pressure area was formed over West- Central Bay of Bengal on Thursday associated with upper air cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above sea-level. This system is likely to intensify further into a well-marked low-pressure area. Due to this, rains or thunder showers, moderate to rather heavy rains, are expected over interior Karnataka during next 24 hours. It is likely to increase thereafter, he added.
