KOCHI: The Admission Supervisory Committee for the self-financing colleges headed by Justice P A Mohammed has decided to send show cause notice to four medical colleges which failed to ensure transparency in the admissions to post-graduate courses. The committee, which held its sitting here on Saturday, asked the college managements to reply within two days. The notices were served on the colleges run by the Christian managements. The committee observed that the entrance examinations conducted by the managements were not transparent. It will take further action based on the reply by the managements. The colleges made admissions to the PG seats in a haste, levying huge fees. The committee also made it clear that it would take action against other colleges if it gets similar complaints. The admission process of medical and engineering streams in the self-financing colleges has run into rough weather as the talks between government and the college managements failed to yield results. Following this, the college managements withdrew from the agreement entered with the government.
