Three suspects were nabbed by police at Piparia toll plaza. MP police have handed over the vital information about the terror network to their counterparts in Uttar Pradesh leading to the arrest of one suspect in Kanpur. However, another suspect Saifulla was surrounded by Uttar Pradesh ATS and security agencies in Lucknow; and the encounter was still on till reports last came in.
The arrested suspects in the case had reportedly boarded a bus in Bhopal for Hoshangabad.
Initially, the cause behind the explosion was suspected to be a short circuit or an explosion in a mobile phone. But, later Home Minister Bhupendra Singh confirmed that the initial probe found traces of gun powder in the train. Singh termed the blast a part of wider conspiracy.
“We had shared inputs gathered from the nabbed suspects with central agencies which in turn alerted UP police,” Singh said.
