BANGALORE: ‘India Against Corruption’ has approached MPs to seek their support for the Jan Lokpal Bill proposed by Anna Hazare. According to former Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde, Hazare has instructed the forum to approach the MPs to request them to vote for the Jan Lokpal Bill instead of the Lokpal Bill drafted by the government.Justice Hegde said: “We are asking the government to discuss the Bill in Parliament and telecast it live.”Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrashekar and Bangalore North MP DB Chandre Gowda came to Freedom Park on Monday to declare their support for the Jan Lokpal Bill. Rajeev Chandrashekar said that he would personally propose the Bill in the Rajya Sabha.According to Justice Hegde, the volunteers are trying to contact the remaining MPs from the state to ascertain if they are willing to declare their support to the Jan Lokpal Bill.The volunteers of Anna movement approached Ananth Kumar seeking his support to the Jan Lokpal Bill. According to sources, however, Ananth Kumar said that he might not support the Bill as it is, but will support Anna Hazare.Scores of volunteers also visited former chief minister HD Kumarswamy’s house to seek his support for the Jan Lokpal Bill.
