BANGALORE: The much-delayed Traffic and Transit Management Centre (TTMC) at Banashankari was inaugurated on Sunday by Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Governor H R Bhardwaj. Built at a cost of Rs 33.10 crore, this TTMC has become the tenth in the city. “On this occasion, I can safely say that the arrangements at TTMC are better than the privatised counterparts. Providing quality facilities to citizens is what my government is striving for. From Namma Metro to underpasses, we have undertaken several citizen-friendly projects,” said the CM in his inaugural speech. “In the field of transport, Karnataka stands at an undisputed position. With last year’s Global Investors Meet and the Global Agri-Business Meet, the State has raked in more than Rs 2.92 lakh crore of investment. With this, we have 22 mega projects that have been sanctioned, and 85 more in the pipeline,” he explained.Project DetailsThe Banashankari TTMC project was started in November 2008. It consists of 3 bus bays with 12 platforms. Pass counters, water facilities, toilets (for disabled, too), food court, car parking with ramps have been provided in this 3-floored TTMC. With a total built-up area of 21073 sqm, the Banashankari TTMC is expected to ease traffic congestion around the area. Other TTMCs are in Jayanagar, Kengeri, Bannerghatta, Shanthinagar, ITPL, Vijayanagar, Koramangala, Domlur and Yeshwantpur.
