Mullaperiyar: State to seek more time

With the Mullaperiyar case coming up before the Supreme Court on Friday, Kerala will seek more time to file its response on the report by the empowered panel. The state will finalise its response only after collecting expert opinion and suggestions.

 “We got the documents, based on which the empowered panel made its report, only on Sept 24. There are 54 CDs containing the documents - 40 reports on 12 tests carried out at dam. We’ll be able to finalise our response only after going through these reports carefully,” said sources. Kerala has already sought comments of experts from Roorkie and Delhi IITs to be submitted before the apex court.
