Muzaffarpur: Plough, protest
Hundreds of medicos of SKMCH on Friday ploughed a field in the college campus to protest the Centre's quota move.

Muzaffarpur (Bihar): Hundreds of medicos of Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) on Friday ploughed a field in the college campus to protest the Centre's decision to reserve seats for OBC in higher educational institutions.

The students - both boys and girls - wearing an apron and with a stethoscope hanging around their necks, ploughed the field to register their protest. They also staged a dharna at the college campus.

"The union government's decision on reservation is aimed at killing merit. Youths of the country see their future doomed because of this vote bank politics of the Congress-led union government," Dr Raman Singh, a protestor, said.

Meanwhile, students from medical colleges across the state are planning to hold a big rally in the capital in a day or two against the government decision on quota.

"Besides holding protest march and candle light procession, we will mobilise support from private medicos to force the government to take back its decision on the reservation issue," Dr Satya Prakash, a member of 'Youth for Equality' spearheading the anti-quota agitation across the country, said.
