THIRUVAIRANIKULAM (ALUVA): The sreekovil of Parvathi Devi at the Thirvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple was closed with the conclusion of the 12-day Nadathurappu Festival at 8.30 pm on Thursday.The final ceremony began when a deepam was taken to the sreekovil, accompanied by Pushpini - Devi’s legendary friend, Allimangalath Brahmini Amma - representatives of the temple Ooraymas Akavoor, Vediyoor and Venmani manas, Samudayam Thirumeni Cherumukku Vasudevan Akkithiripad and temple trust officials led by Sarath Nair, K G Dilipkumar and C P Narayanan.Pushpini Brahmani Amma, as per the ritual, asked Samudayam Thirumeni Cherumukku Akkithiripad whether all devotees had the holy darsan and offered prayers. He replied in the affirmative three times. The Pushpini then ordered to close the doors of the sreekovil of Parvathi Devi. The doors will now remain closed for one year, until the next festival.The temple witnessed unprecedented gathering of devotees since afternoon. Vehicle and passenger movement through all roads leading to the temple was paralysed. The devotees had to undergo untold difficulties to go near the sreekovil.
