Neemuch: A 17-year-old girl, who was lured into marriage and then sold in Punjab for Rs 70,000 has been rescued by Neemuch police of Madhya Pradesh.
Police have arrested the buyer and mother-daughter duo involved in the human trafficking racket. They have also rescued a woman and her daughter from Uttar Pradesh on the basis of information offered by them.
Radhika (name changed), a native of Pipliya in Neemuch, had gone missing last December, ASP Rajesh Kumar Sagar said. Baghna police probing the disappearance stumbled upon vital links in the case that led to Punjab where the girl was kept.
Not only the girl was recovered but the man Amitabh Agrawal who bought her was also netted by police from Amritsar.
