BHUBANESWAR: Even as the Congress and the ruling BJD are engaged in war of words after senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler calling Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik ‘beiman’ (betrayer), the BJP on Thursday said both the parties are dishonest and corrupt. “The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, and ruling BJD are both ‘beiman’ and ‘bhrastachar,” BJP State president Jual Oram told mediapersons here.It is meaningless on the part of Tytler to describe BJD government as ‘beiman’ as people of the country knew it well that the Congress was equally dishonest and corrupt, he remarked.“Neither the BJD nor the Congress is clean. They are birds of the same feather,” he said. The people of the State are intelligent enough to make their own assessment of the two parties during the next general election. He exuded confidence that the people would certainly reject the BJD and the Congress in the next elections as both are involved in a series of scams and scandals. Affirming his party’s resolve to intensify the campaign against corruption, Oram said that the Bhrastachar Hatao Abhiyan had been completed in 68 out of 147 Assembly constituencies. The campaign will be suspended after a few days in view of the monsoon and the rest of the Assembly segments will be covered from September.Claiming that the State-wide anti-corruption campaign is getting huge response, he said national leaders including party’s former president Rajnath Singh would join the drive shortly.
