CHENNAI: The first step for the initiation of any process, be it admissions or visa applications, involves paperwork. Now, a company incubated by the IIT Madras Research Park has developed a system to reduce the time taken for the verification of the authenticity of such documents.
Myeasydocs.com, a venture of Tharakan Web Innovations (P) Ltd, aims at bringing down identity theft and the use of fake documents in the country. Crime involving such documents has been on the rise, as technology has evolved to create more realistic duplicates. Myeasydocs.com uses similar technology in order to reduce such occurrences."We want to enable the connecting of three stakeholders - the student, who needs the documents verified; the university, that has to do the verification; and the employer, who needs to know that a potential employee is truly qualified," said the company's CEO, Avira Tharakan.

The British Deputy High Commissioner, Mike Nithavrianakis, downloaded the first verified document from the website on Wednesday. Appreciating the efforts put by the team, along with the students of IIT-M, he said, "The number of start ups beginning here shows the growth of the research park. We are keen to see how this particular project develops."

Myeasydocs.com also aims at reducing the usage of paper, in order to be more environmentally-friendly.
