Ashok Gehlot denies he has made deal with three small parties, but says "possibilities are always there".

New Delhi: The Congress on Friday denied that it was forming an alliance with any parties for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

"No such alliance has been formed but the possibilities are always there," PTI quoted Ashok Gehlot, General Secretary of the All India Congress Committee, as saying.

Gehlot was commenting on media reports that the Congress has decided to form an alliance with the Rashtriya Lok Dal, the Jan Morcha Alliance and the United Democratic Front.

Media reports said that Jan Morcha leader Raj Babbar had met with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and an alliance would be announced soon.

The Congress had till last month pressed for the imposition of President’s rule in UP but toned down the demand after its defeat in elections in Punjab and Uttarakhand.
