Dortmund: Brazil, beaten 3-0 by France in the 1998 World Cup final, will not be thinking of revenge when the two sides meet against in Saturday's quarter-final, coach Carlos Alberto Parreira said.
"It's got nothing to do with that game," he told the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) official website.
"There's no atmosphere of revenge, we're not thinking about that here. We're playing another decisive match against France, just as we did against Ghana."
Brazil beat Ghana 3-0 in their second-round match on Tuesday while France came from behind to defeat Spain 3-1.
"It was a good game with good football," said Parreira of the French win. "France are getting better at an important stage of the competition, in which every game is decisive. They played better and deserved the win."
The 1998 final became famous because of the dazed performance of Brazil striker Ronaldo, who was taken to hospital hours before kickoff after being taken ill.
The episode has never been fully explained.
Ronaldo went on to finish as topscorer in the 2002 World Cup with eight goals and has scored three times in Germany. His goal against Ghana was his 15th at the World Cup finals, eclipsing the previous record set by West Germany's Gerd Mueller.
