Collectors will be empowered to issue No Objection Certificates (NOC) for the sale of lands given to freedom fighters and ex-servicemen by the government, revenue Mminister N Raghuveera Reddy said.
During a review meeting with officials, he looked into the petitions received during ‘Revenue Sadassulu’ and said if the value of land given to freedom fighters is below Rs 50 lakh, collectors can issue NOC for their sale.
If value of such lands is above Rs 2 crore, the state government will issue NOC, he said.
Pointing out that some people are obtaining NOC from the high court, the minister said they have decided to take up the issue with advocate general and work out a way to ensure the poor's lands are not alienated.
He also directed officials to clear all the pending petitions received during Revenue Sadasulu by September 5.
