CHENNAI: The First Bench of the Madras HC comprising C J MY Eqbal and Justice T S Sivgnanam ordered three weeks notice on a writ plea challenging the exclusion of the CBI from the purview of the RTI Act.In her PIL, advocate S Vijayalakshmi of Periyar Nagar, alleged that since the exposure of the CWG, 2G and other scams and the Lok Pal movement, the Centre, fearing this would lead to movements such as the Tunisian, Egyptian and Yemeni uprisings, had decided to conceal its wrongdoings by using Sec. of the RTI Act and cloaked the CBI by granting to it a blanket exemption. She sought to quash the notice dated June 9 last of the Secretary, Union Ministry of Personnel, PG and Pensions, New Delhi as violative of Sec. 24 of the Act and Article 14 of the Constitution.
