One Arrested After Woman Gangraped in Rajasthan, Accused Filmed Act & Uploaded Video on Social Media
One of the accused has been arrested so far, while the hunt is on to nab the other four, said the police.

Jaipur: A woman was allegedly raped by five persons in front of her husband in Rajasthan's Alwar district, police said on Tuesday. The suspects also filmed the crime and uploaded the video on social media, they added.

At a press conference later in the day, Director General of Police Kapil Garg said one of the accused has been arrested while 14 teams have been set up to nab the others.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot condemned the incident and directed officials to take stern action against the accused. "The state government is committed to women safety. Nearly a dozen police teams have been formed to arrest the accused and one arrest has been made. The victim and her family are given protection," he said in a statement.

Alwar Superintendent of Police Rajeev panchar was removed after allegations of delay in inquiry and arrest.

The incident took place on April 26 when the woman was travelling on a bike with her husband. The suspects stopped them on the Thanagazi-Alwar bypass and dragged the couple to an isolated area, where they allegedly raped the woman and threatened her husband with dire consequences, police said.

An FIR was lodged on May 2 under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and SC/ST Act against the five accused, said the police.
