Students of Pachaiyappa’s College staged a sit-in stir for about a couple of hours against the presence of police in the campus and seeking basic amenities, here on Wednesday.
Students attached to Revolutionary Students Youth Front (RSYF) lau-nched the stir urging the management to conduct cultural events and ga-mes. They alleged that they were not provided with potable water and proper toilet facilities.
Soon after the police force assembled before the gates, there was a commotion on the premises.
The students objected to the entry of the police. They also charged that they were being treated as if they were in prisons and the management should change that as well. Around noon, they withdrew their stir with the intervention of the management.
