New Delhi: Islamabad may want the world to believe that it has cracked down on terrorist organisation Jamaat-ud-Dawa, but concrete evidence has emerged that shows the Lashkar front is now going by a new name.

The Jamaat has surfaced as the Tehreek-e-Tahafuz Qibla Awal. A latest video shows top Jamaat and Lashkar leaders like Hafiz Saif Ullah, a main stream Jamaat-ud-Dawa activist, addressing the Tehreek's recent rally in Pakistan.

A mainstream Talibani and Maulana Munawar Hassan of the Jamaat-e-Islami, an ally of the Lashkar-e-Toiba, were also present at this protest rally.

Earlier, India's Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon had also said that the Lashkar front was active less than two weeks after it was banned by the UN.

Menon, too, had said the Jamaat-ud-Dawa was operating under a new name.

He also said that the Jamaat has a new website, which is being used to collect money to fund terror activities.

Speaking to the All India Radio last month, Menon had rejected Pakistan's offer of joint investigation into the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26.

He had said India has shared evidence with Pakistan several times, but without any results.

Menon added that even the Joint-Anti Terror mechanism set up by India and Pakistan has yielded no results so far.

It is believed that the Lashkar front is renaming itself to avoid restrictions which Pakistan could be forced to impose on it because of UNSC sanctions.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa is a reincarnation of Lashkar-e-Toiba after the latter was banned by the US seven years ago.
