Imran Khan welcomed the Supreme Court order, saying the entire country is with the apex court.

Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met President Asif Ali Zardari soon after the Supreme Court issued contempt notice to him and asked him to appear before the court on January 19. Gilani discussed the political situation following the contempt notice in the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) case.

Gilani also met opposition leaders. A meeting of the Parliamentary Committee of the coalition partners has also been called by Gilani. The meeting will be held at Gilani's residence.

The coalition partners will discuss the contempt notice issued against Gilani by the Supreme Court. Law Minister Maula Baksh Chandi will brief the partners about the court proceedings. The meeting will also discuss the polling strategy in the National Assembly during the vote of confidence.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan welcomed the Supreme Court order, saying the entire country is with the apex court.

"They bought the judges, they bought the lawyers only to protect Zardari. Entire nation is standing with the Supreme Court. Instead of solving the issues of common man they are destroying the law and protecting the culprits," alleged Imran Khan.
