Parling menace: US firm proposes to help BBMP

BANGALORE: A US-based firm has proposed  to assist Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in tackling the parking  menace  in the city. In a presentation to BBMP on Wednesday, US-based firm Duncan Solutions, which is into innovative parking solutions suggested BBMP to adopt hi-tech facilities including paying parking fee through credit card, mobile phone and also vending machines. They also suggested to fix a special censors at parking lots which will detect violations. This has the facility to capture the number plate of the vehicle and notice can be sent through email. Explaining the problems of parking, the representatives of Duncan Solutions said that commercial shop owners park their vehicles for an entire day, which results in customers facing parking problems. Vehicle movement in search of parking space gives rise to traffic jam, as well as pollution, they stated.
