BANGALORE: Residents’ condition at Kadugodi, Pattalamma Palya and areas around Whitefield railway station has worsened in the last one-and-a-half years as there is no connectivity from Kadugodi bus station to the other side for pedestrians. The New Indian Express  had reported the problems of the residents six months ago, and even after six months, the condition remains the same. One-and-a-half-years ago, there was a connecting road but after an over-bridge was built by railway and state government, the road was dug up and converted into a full-fledged railway track. The railway department closed the gates and now  trying to cross this track is a physical strain. Also, the railway track poses grave dangers for the residents of Kadugodi and Pattalamma Palya. There is no foot over-bridge for pedestrians to cross the six railway tracks. Many cases of rail accidents have been reported in the last few months. Neither the people representatives nor the railway department have looked into the matter so far.Union Minister of State for Railways, K H Muniyappa, while inaugurating the renovated Whitefield railway station had said that the railway department had sanctioned funds for sky-walk or foot over- bridge. But nothing has come up in the place till now. Councillor of Kadugodi K N Anjaneya Reddy said,”I have written letter to the railway department. They replied that the BBMP has to pay `71 lakh. But when I mentioned the problem in the the BBMP meeting, they showed no interest to build the foot over -bridge. People can’t walk on the flyover and and on railway track, as both are prohibited. Then how can the pedestrians reach the other end? Its causing problems to the residents”
