We are doing our duty to maintain peace of the state. It is the government’s duty to take action against those committing unlawful acts,’’ he said.The Home Minister said that development in the state will come to a halt if violence and political murders become a common affair. No one will be ready to invest in a state marred by violence, he said.Referring to the recent political murders in the state, he said that every citizen had the right to follow the ideology of any political party and killing a person belonging to another party cannot be justified in a democracy, he said.Youth Congress Parliament constituency president M M Sanjeev Kumar presided. Home Minister Thiruvachoor Radhakrishan urged CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan to respect the Constitution and fight the criminal cases charged against party cadres, legally.

Speaking at a meeting against ‘Violent Politics’ convened by the Youth Congress Kollam Constituency Committee at Chinnakkada here on Thursday, Thiruvanchoor said that even after Supreme Court and High Court ruled that the State Government was right in registering case against M M Mani for his controversial speech, the CPM state leadership had adopted a stand to fight the allegations against them politically.
