Plea against kushboo dismissed

CHENNAI: A plea for a direction to the police to register a case against actor Kushboo under Sec 504 of the IPC for her remarks immediately after the election results, was rejected by the HC on Wednesday.Sec 504 was a non-cognizable offence and no case was made out by the petitioner, Justice T Sudanthiram said and dismissed the petition from Advocate V Arivalagan.He said that Kushboo made a statement on May 13 this year to the effect that the defeat of the DMK in the polls was a loss only to the people and that they would have to suffer for the next five years. This remark attracted sec 504 of the IPC, he contended.
