Pregnant woman burnt to death

DEOGARH: A seventh month pregnant woman, Bilasini Barik (25), of Dantaribahal village under Deogarh police limits was allegedly burnt to death over dowry demand late on Sunday. Police have detained her husband Sanjay Barik and father-in-law Jagannath Barik after a complaint was lodged by her brother Sudhir Kumar Pradhan. Bilasini who hails from Gopalpali village under Mahulpali police limits in Sambalpur district was married to Sanjay in March 2010. Sudhir alleged that his sister’s in-laws had been demanding ` 80,000 as dowry and all of them were involved in setting her afire.
