Lucknow: Support for Anna Hazare's campaign against corruption continued as people from all walks of life staged demonstrations, held candle light vigils and special prayers in different parts of Uttar Pradesh.
School and college students sat on dharna at the General Post Office and Jhulelal Park expressing solidarity with Hazare while activists of various social organisations took out candle light vigils and rallies on two-wheelers raising slogans in his favour.
A group of Muslims offered special prayers at the mazar of Dada Mian in the state capital extending support to Hazare's crusade against corruption and also prayed for his health. As per reports from Mau, Ballia and Bhadohi pro-Anna stir were held there with people coming out on roads carrying national flags and raising anti-corruption slogans.
In Bhadohi, all India carpet manufacturers association came out in support of Hazare urging for stern action against the corrupt. Workers of political parties, including BJP and communist parties, also staged dharnas at various places in the state. The protests have remained peaceful throughout the state.
