Puducherry bandh peaceful

PUDUCHERRY: A dawn-to-dusk bandh called by various trade unions in Puducherry, urging government to order a judicial probe into the recent incidents of violence in Yanam, was peaceful. Majority of shops and business establishments remained closed while government offices functioned. Police said 126 people were taken into preventive custody.Meanwhile, All India Trade Union Congress urged the Government to take over the Regency Ceramics Factory in Yanam, which had declared a lockout.
