Amid the ongoing probe into the Pune Porsche crash, a three-member committee report into the accident has been officially submitted to the Maharashtra government on Wednesday, sources informed CNN-News18. As per the preliminary report, lapses have been found on the part of Dr Taware, Dr Holnur and the wardboy.
A three-member committee conducting an inquiry into the alleged manipulation of the blood samples of the juvenile driver involved in the Porsche car crash on Tuesday visited the Sassoon General Hospital and also met police officials who are probing the case.
The committee is headed by Dr Pallavi Sapale, dean of the Grant Medical College and JJ group of hospitals.
Pune Doctors, Staff Member Suspended
Meanwhile, the state government on Wednesday removed the two doctors — Dr Ajay Taware, head of the state-run Sassoon hospital’s forensic medicine department, and chief medical officer Dr Shrihari Halnor — from their posts for allegedly replacing the blood sample of the 17-year-old accused. A wardboy, Atul Ghatkamble, involved in the case was also suspended.
According to sources, it was also learnt that Dr Taware spoke to builder Vishal Agarwal, the Pune Porsche accident accused’s father, at least 14 times over the phone. It is suspected that the calls were made to discuss the ‘change of blood sample’.
Digital Recreation of Crime Scene
Amid the ongoing probe, the Pune Police will digitally recreate the crime scene as the accused is a minor and cannot be taken to the spot, sources told News18.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is in touch with authorities and is closely monitoring the updates in connection to the case. The Chief Minister is also reportedly in touch with Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, who is currently investigating the case.
The statements of the two minors, who were sitting in the backseat of Porsche, have been recorded.
