KOCHI: In a rare bid to soothe high tempers of some of the passengers of Mumbai-bound Turonto Express on Wednesday, the Railways offered them free food, accommodation, and health aid for a day. The air-conditioning system of the AC three-tier coach in which they were travelling on Wednesday night had developed some snags.The area manager George John offered the facilities to the passengers and also gave them the option to have their tickets cancelled. Twenty-nine passengers decided to accept the railways’ hospitality offer and continue their journey on Thursday, while many of them decided to continue their journey. A separate air-conditioned coach was arranged for those who stayed. They were also provided with food and other facilities.A railway doctor visited the passengers on Thursday morning and carried out a check-up. The compartment was attached with the Kurla Express to continue the journey on Thursday.
