If you’re a fan of the show Lie to Me, and think it is near impossible to figure what a person is thinking by just looking at his/her face, Zane Cuxton provides the answer. The face reader who doubles up as a soft skills trainer was in the city over a weekend to conduct a face reading workshop. Cuxton reveals, “We had some great feedback here, after having conducted workshops in Bangalore for 10 years now - I think we should have come to Chennai earlier.” But for those who didn’t make it this time, there’s no need to worry. The Scotsman says, “We’ve already decided on conducting another session next month.” And how long does it take to pick up the skill? “I think you can learn 85 per cent of the art within two days,” he responds. So if you want to find whether a potential candidate for a husband is going to be wealthy, just take an ‘informed’ look at his nose. Apparently, the finer the pores, the brighter his prospects for monetary gain. And men, don’t dismiss a lady with a unibrow, it actually indicates that she’s more emotional than others. The conversation veers into how he got started with face reading. “I was working in a pharmaceutical company in the UK, and it more or less began out of curiosity,” reveals Cuxton. But he goes on, “So when I decided to switch to soft skills, and moved back to India (Bangalore), face reading and soft skills seemed to fit well side by side.” However, he insists that he is very choosy about whom he teaches and “soon-to-be godmen are an instant no”. Having practised the art for 15 years now, what has been his toughest face to read so far? “Well, usually it isn’t difficult, you just have to read the lines,” he states. “But I once met a bookie whose face I simply could not figure out, all I saw was a blank.” Two days later, the man passed away. As it turns out, face reading is sometimes a ‘scary’ business. The next face reading workshop in Chennai will be conducted on May 4 and 5. For details, call 09941139881.
