HYDERABAD: The Municipal Administration and Urban Development department has given sanction to release Rs 2.61 crore to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, for design and construction of approach roads for the proposed expansion of the road over bridge at Lakdi-ka-pul.The GHMC has already taken up road-widening from Lakdi-ka-pul to Rajiv Gandhi International airport at Shamshabad to avoid traffic congestion. The South Central Railway were requested to prepare the General Alignment Drawing and estimates for proposed RoB widening. The SCR will construct the bridge proper and the civic body build the approach roads to the bridge. For the bridge proper, the railways gave an estimate of Rs 9.14 crore to which the government accorded sanction. The GHMC duly paid Rs 2.28 crore as first instalment to start the work.
