Rs 32 crore recovered from irregularities in power connections

The Madhya Pradesh power distribution companies recovered over Rs 32 crore after detecting irregularities in power connections in various state divisions. Over two lakh power connections of consumers were checked in various areas of Madhya Pradesh in the first quarter of the current financial year.

Irregularities were detected in 52,039 connections and an amount of over Rs 32 crore was recovered in these cases, an official release said in Bhopal on Tuesday.

During the period, 10,262 cases of power theft or irregularities were filed in special courts, the release added.
