New Delhi: After a strong buzz in the film and media fraternity of reports that Sanjay Dutt had married a small-time Bollywood actress called Manyata in November 19, 2006, Dutt’s family is in denial mode.
"All these are just rumours, there is no truth to them. If he was married, he will announce it to the world and in fact the media will be the first to know," Sanjay's sister and Congress MP Priya Dutt was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.
Reports of Sanjay’s marriage hit headlines after a prominent Hindi news channel on Thursday reported that Sanjay had married Manyata, who hails from Dubai and has been around in the industry for sometime now.
"I have got so many calls since morning about this and I am tired of telling people that any talk of his marriage is false. I do not know what else is happening in his personal life because I don't interfere in his life. I am too busy with my own," Priya said.
Even a tabloid carried a front-page story quoting the actor as saying that he had married Manyata, also known as Dilnawaz Shaikh on November 19.
The couple was recently caught on camera walking hand-in-hand at the Screen Awards held in Mumbai last week.
Sanjay has been married twice before, first to Richa Sharma, with whom he has a daughter Trishala and later to model Rhea Pillai.
The actor was recently convicted under the Arms Act in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
