SC stays Delhi nursery admissions, process delayed further

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday stayed nursery admissions in Delhi. This comes after the High Court vacated stay on the admissions earlier this month.

The applicants who had secured a seat in more than one school were asked to zero in on a school till April 9 or else they would lose both the seats.

The Delhi High Court had then also put the transfer cases on hold and said the decision on the matter will be taken on April 16.

In February this year the court had ordered scrapping of transfer points and later ordered a fresh draw of lots. This order was challenged by parents whose wards had already secured admissions.

This is the first time admission process has dragged on for so long with points system being changed twice and 15 notifications issued by the Education department, leading to utter confusion.
