New Delhi: The Supreme Court is likely to decide on Thursday whether to monitor the CBI's investigation in the 2G spectrum scam controversy.
Earlier, the Apex court had questioned the tenability of Chief Vigilance Commissioner P J Thomas supervising the CBI investigations, as he was telecom secretary under former telecom minister A Raja, with many of his decisions being questioned. He then rescued himself from supervising the CBI's investigation.
The Government and the CBI, however maintain that they have no objection to the Supreme Court monitoring the probe.
The Opposition on the other hand will settle for nothing less than an inquiry by a Joint Parliamentary Committee.
