Actor-comedian Kapil Sharma tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar on Wednesday. The two got hitched in an intimate ceremony, with only close friends and family in attendance. Soon after completing the wedding rituals, Kapil shared the first picture of them as newlyweds on his social media accounts.
Also present at the wedding was Kapil's friends from the television industry, including Krushna Abhishek, Sumona Chakravarti, Rajiv Thakur, Bharti and her husband Haarsh Limbachiyaa.
The wedding festivities for the couple began with a ‘jagran’ at Kapil's residence in Amritsar. Krushna, who will soon be seen with Kapil in his upcoming show The Kapil Sharma Show, shared the pictures from the festivities on Instagram. Sumona also joined the couple for the jagran.
"All night fun on Kapil ki shaadi in Amritsar. Tonight sab jaag rahe hain as jagran. Jai Mata Di," Krushna captioned the picture of the gang at the venue.
Post the wedding, Kapil's family will host a reception in Amritsar for the newlyweds while the actor-comedian will host a separate function in Mumbai on December 24 for his colleagues and members of the film fraternity. Speaking about the wedding festivities, Kapil earlier told IANS, "We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish."
On marrying Kapil, Ginni recently told Bombay Times, "Kapil is a gem of a person and very caring. There is no one like him and I can't find anyone better than him. He is a family man. He is still humble the way he was years ago and hasn't changed at all."
