Mauritius-- a small island country in Indian Ocean-- is one of the most sought after honeymoon destinations. This place has some of the most beautiful beaches of the world and despite being visited by millions of people the cleanliness is unparalleled. The beaches are ideal for spending a lazy afternoon with your beloved and soak in the vividness of the colors of the nature.

The shimmering ocean is a sight to behold which is complemented by undisturbed greenery. You just can’t help but wonder about the marvel of the nature which hosts this beautiful country. The peaceful country is home to world’s largest sugarcane plantations and is common sight while travelling to countryside. The tropical climate throughout the year favors a good harvest. Moreover the sun kissed beaches provide breathtaking view of the surrounding areas.

I wish I could just spend the entire day lazing around lay in the lap of nature. Mauritius is truly a place where life comes to stand still and one can just simply do nothing and stare at sea from the resort. Luckily we got a sea facing room which made the experience really memorable.

After spending couple of days soaking in sun and indulging in mouth watering sea food, we went out like tourist to collect some souvenirs. We wanted to explore the geographical diversity of the southern island where the terrain is rocky. The island was formed due to some volcanic activities millions of years ago. We were told of volcanic crater which was formed by eruption of volcano and provides a panoramic view of the southern island. The dormancy of the volcano activities has resulted in rich fauna near the surrounding areas. Although I’m not a professional photographer but waned to witness events in the evolution of earth and clicked a photograph of the crater.

We then headed to seven colored earth which were again a result of volcanic activities in conjunction with tectonic movements. I’ve heard a lot about this place and googled some images of it. I thought images from internet to be photoshopped but I was wrong when I saw it from my own eyes. Although I can’t distinctly list down seven colors but the view was quite amazing and we were content to see multi-color earth.

After a hectic day we went back to our resort but were tempted again to take a panoramic view of the island. Mauritius is a place where pictures won’t do justice to the experience and one must certainly visit to immerse in the beauty of it.
