HYDERABAD: A train lighting helper of Vijayawada division of the South Central Railway (SCR) showed remarkable integrity by restoring jewellery worth `2.8 lakh to its rightful owner.M Sudheer Kumar, who works in the electrical department of Vijayawada Railway Division, found a box containing jewellery while attending to his duties in the D4 coach of Pinakini Express. He handed over the jewellery box to Government Railway Police office in Vijaywada. Later, the box was kept in the custody of the metropolitan magistrate there. On noticing that her jewellery box was missing, SVL Prabhavati of Eluru lodged a complaint with divisional railway manager of Vijayawada. She had misplaced the jewellery box while travelling from Nellore to Vijayawada. The jewellery in the box included a necklace, a bracelet, a ring and a coral bracelet. After receiving the complaint from Prabhavati, the Government Railway Police returned the jewellery box to her.Sudheer will be rewarded by SCR.
